Schooling in the 21st century means that vital literacy and numeracy skills, which are essential for our children’s future academic growth, are not being learnt. This is because there is so much to cover in one term, that certain skills are being lost. Teachers must fit an ever increasing curriculum and workload into their teaching, and as a result our children are suffering.

After many years of teaching in the Education system, Kerry knew that there were many parents who needed guidance and support to understand how they can help their children to improve their education and learning. For many parents, it is as if they are fighting a uphill battle, not knowing where to turn.
 
In parents’ quest for answers, Literate Kids has developed a series of educational workshops. In these workshops, parents will develop the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence that will assist them to guide and support their children throughout their educational path.
 
Literate Kids occupies the middle ground between school and one-on-one tutoring. We pride ourselves on being able to fill the void that has been left by an overburdened school system. This seems to have lost its focus, and forgotten about the key skills that every person needs.
