Literate Kids Tutoring Centre
Literate Kids has launched our first Tutoring Centre on Queensland's Gold Coast. We provide a unique solution for children who are struggling with their schoolwork.
Literate Kids is unlike other tutoring centres. We just don't help the child: we also help their parents, and the results are overwhelming.
Both children and their parent/s must attend each session together. We know from experience that parents can help their children achieve greater things when they themselves have the confidence in knowing how to help their children learn.
Out tutoring centre caters for prep, primary school and lower high school children.
Pathway to Success
For a child to succeed, we must first find out why the aren't. When children first come to the centre, we begin our assessment process.
We get to know your child by:
a) Finding out how they see themselves, both as a learner and as a person
b) Discovering how they feel about school, schoolwork, reading , homework etc.
c) Looking at their schoolwork.
d) Establising each child's learning style - auditory, visual, kinectic
e) Observing and listening to both parents and child.
Once the child's assessment has been completed, we write individual programs for each student - I do not believe in the theory that one program suits all..
Our Philosophy
Literate Kids believes in building a child's confidence first, then beginning the learning,
We must find out why a child's confidence is low before we begin to repair and rebuild it.
I use this analogy:

Parents hold the key to helping their children learn. Literate Kids Provides parents with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to be able to help their children to learn.
Consistency, patience and acceptance are the keys to helping your child learn.
Consistency Children need consistency with their learning.
Patience Children need someone who will be patient with them and their learning.
Acceptance Children thrive when they know that you accept your child's ability. They are where they are because they need to be, and no amount of pressure is going to help them, only hinder them.

| If you build a house on a bed of sand, at some point this house will become unstable and eventually fall down. A child's learning is no different: if a child's foundation for learning is not sound, at some point their confidence will take a tumble. No amount of support is going to help them unless we rebuild from the ground up. So we find out why they are having difficulty learning, and then help them grow from there |
